Rear Delts

Band Pull-Apart

Beginner Resistance band Isolation Rear Delts

How to do it

  1. Hold a resistance band shoulder-width with arms straight at chest height.

  2. Pull the band apart until it touches your chest, keeping arms straight.

  3. Squeeze your shoulder blades for a second.

  4. Return slowly until your arms are parallel again.

Common mistakes

  • Bending the elbows, which turns it into a row.

  • Shrugging the shoulders up while pulling.

Tips

  • Cheap, light, and doable anywhere — ideal as a warm-up.

  • High reps of 15-25 work better than an overly stiff band.
