Donkey Calf Raise

Intermediate Machine Isolation Calves

How to do it

  1. Bend over in the donkey calf machine with your hips under the pad.

  2. Balls of your feet on the platform, heels hanging off.

  3. Drop your heels until your calves are fully stretched.

  4. Rise onto your toes as high as you can, pause, then lower slowly.

Common mistakes

  • Bouncing at the bottom with no stretch.

  • Bending and straightening the knees.

Tips

  • The bent-over position stretches the calves more than a standing raise.

  • Hold the stretched position for 1-2 seconds each rep.
