Neck

Lateral Neck Raise

Beginner Bodyweight Isolation Neck

How to do it

  1. Lie on your side on a bench with your head past the edge.

  2. Lower your head toward the floor as far as is comfortable.

  3. Raise your head toward the top shoulder without rotating your face.

  4. Finish all reps, then switch sides.

Common mistakes

  • Rotating the head while lifting instead of bending straight sideways.

  • Shrugging the shoulder to help — it should stay still.

Tips

  • Match the rep count on both sides.

  • The weight of your head is usually enough — added load is rarely needed.
