Leg Press Calf Raise

Beginner Machine Isolation Calves

How to do it

  1. Sit in the leg press and place the balls of your feet on the bottom edge of the platform.

  2. Straighten your knees but do not lock them hard.

  3. Push the platform by rising onto your toes as far as you can.

  4. Lower your heels slowly until the calves stretch fully.

Common mistakes

  • Bending the knees to help push — that turns it into a half leg press.

  • Cutting the range so the calves never lengthen.

Tips

  • Pause two seconds at the bottom — calves respond best to the stretch.

  • Safe to load heavy since your back is fully supported.
