Cable Curl

Beginner Cable Isolation Biceps

How to do it

  1. Attach a straight or EZ handle to the lowest pulley.

  2. Stand one step from the machine and grab the handle with palms facing up.

  3. Lock your elbows at your sides and curl the handle toward your chest.

  4. Squeeze the biceps at the top without leaning back.

  5. Lower under control against the cable until the arms are nearly straight.

Common mistakes

  • Leaning back to fight the cable pull.

  • Letting the elbows travel back and forth with the cable.

  • Going so heavy your heels lift off the floor.

Tips

  • Stagger your stance slightly for a stable base.

  • Great for drop sets since changing the load takes one second.
