Forearms

Reverse Curl

Beginner Barbell Isolation Forearms

How to do it

  1. Hold a barbell or EZ-bar shoulder-width with an overhand grip.

  2. Stand tall with your elbows tucked at your sides.

  3. Curl the bar toward your chest without bending the wrists.

  4. Pause at the top with the back of your hands in line with your forearms.

  5. Lower under control until the arms are nearly straight.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the wrists collapse because the load is too heavy.

  • Swinging the torso to get the bar moving.

  • Using the same weight as your regular barbell curl.

Tips

  • Use around 60-70% of your normal barbell curl weight.

  • Excellent for building grip strength and forearm thickness.
