Triceps
How to do it
-
Attach a rope to a low pulley, grab both ends and turn your back to the machine.
-
Bring the rope behind your head with elbows bent and upper arms beside your ears.
-
Stagger one foot forward for balance and lean slightly into the movement.
-
Extend the rope forward and up until the arms are fully straight.
-
Return slowly until the triceps feel stretched, then repeat.
Common mistakes
-
Dropping the upper arms so it turns into a chest press.
-
Arching the lower back because there is no support.
-
Standing too close so the rope rubs your neck.
Tips
-
The cable keeps tension in the stretched position, that is the whole advantage.
-
Sets of 10-15 feel much better here than heavy low-rep work.
