Quads

Treadmill Run

Beginner Machine Compound Quads

How to do it

  1. Clip the safety key to your shirt before starting the belt.

  2. Begin with a brisk 3-5 minute walk to warm up.

  3. Raise the speed gradually to a pace you can hold.

  4. Stay upright, eyes forward, and land your foot under your hips.

  5. Bring the speed down over 3-5 minutes at the end to cool down.

Common mistakes

  • Gripping the handrails and wrecking your posture.

  • Jumping straight to top speed with no warm-up.

  • Overstriding so the heel lands far in front of your body.

Tips

  • A 1-2% incline makes it feel closer to running outdoors.

  • If keeping muscle is the goal, do cardio after your lifting.
