Triceps

Triceps Kickback

Beginner Dumbbell Isolation Triceps

How to do it

  1. Put one knee and one hand on a bench with your back flat and parallel to the floor.

  2. Hold a dumbbell in the free hand and raise the upper arm in line with your torso.

  3. Straighten the elbow behind you until the arm is fully extended.

  4. Squeeze the triceps for a beat at the back position.

  5. Bend the elbow back slowly without letting the upper arm drop.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the upper arm drop on every rep.

  • Rotating the shoulder to swing the dumbbell back.

  • Going too heavy so the elbow never locks out.

Tips

  • This is a light movement, use small weights and 12-20 reps.

  • Perfect as a finisher after your heavy triceps work.
